Der Aufwand, welcher hinter so einem kleinen zweite oder dritte Reihe Film steckt, ist erstaunlich interessant und durchaus gelungen, da Requisiten des Zweiten Weltkrieges genutzt worden sind, die Iron Cross: The Road to Normandy deutlich besser und gerade zu hochwertiger wirken lassen. Ob Detailliebe an die Kampfwerkzeuge, Bewegungsmittel, ausgestattete Innenräume, bis hin zu Rüstungen und der gesamten Kleidung, Iron Cross punktet durch die kleinen, kaum auffallenden Aspekte.
Leider stützt sich dieser nicht großflächig auf seine Stärken und liefert einen unfassbar hässlichen, schlecht gespielten und noch mieser inszenierten Film, der von der Qualität konstant schwankt und nie seinen Fluss beibehält. Was daraus entsteht ist ein Machwerk, welches gerade noch so an der Erträglichkeit andocken kann, doch mit jeder Minute konstant schlechter…

Schon durchaus interessant, was Regisseur und Hauptdarsteller Tino Struckmann hier als Kriegsfilm auf die Beine gestellt hat. Nur blöd das die Inszenierung aussieht wie ein Youtube Film von 2007.
Captain Müller und sein Bruder Anton werden schwer verwundet von der russischen Front abzogen und sollen von nun an die Normandie verteidigen. Denn die Amerikaner bereiten sich auf den D-Day vor, welcher den Captain dazu verleitet, ihn und seine Freunde zu retten nur ist die Gestapo auch nicht weit entfernt.
Wie bereits angedeutet dachte ich erst das hier wieder mehr als die hälfte Stock Footage ist, doch tatsächlich haben Verleiher originale Sachen aus dem zweiten Weltkrieg zur Verfügung gestellt. Von jede Menge Fahrzeugen, Flugzeugen, Unformen oder sogar Inneneinrichtungen ist alles dabei.…

Another WW2 film that takes footage from a fairly impressive large scale re-enactment and attempts to edit it into a film. Yes, there are a bunch of these littered around streaming services. This one is pretty much par for the course; you have a sort of boring, poorly acted story crafted around fairly elaborate staged battle scenes.
On one hand a lot of effort was definitely put in by the re-enactors. There are lots of actual WW2 vehicles and equipment on display, which is actually pretty neat. Unfortunately this is supposed to be a film and none of it really ‘feels’ real. The soldiers often move sort of clumsily, uniforms are pristine clean, and the editing often makes things something…

A well dressed and well manned movie. The action direction is weak and when there’s no fighting, it’s clear they didn’t get good actors, and that the script wasn’t all that great. The battles are decent enough, with a lot of the weakness coming from the choice of shots and how they’re edited together. Also, too many of the guys that get shot catch themselves as they fall. It’d all be more forgivable if the movie was only 80-90 minutes.
